Focused on Oxide Gold in the Great Basin

Liberty Gold’s Viper project is located in Elko County, Nevada, approximately 70 kilometres northeast of Montello. The project consists of 40 claims covering 597 acres, plus 2,054 acres  of private mineral rights owned and leased by Liberty Gold. The total project area covers 2,651 acres.

The Viper project was generated through grassroots exploration by Liberty Gold’s team and is located in an emerging off-trend district in northeast Nevada. Viper is hosted within Mississippian carbonate stratigraphy and displays low-sulphidation, epithermal-style gold and silver mineralization in three primary zones, the largest of which is approximately 1.5 kilometres long by 0.5 kilometres wide. In 2010 an airborne magnetic survey, orientation gravity lines and geological mapping were completed to follow up on encouraging gold-in-rock and soil results received in 2009.

In 2011, Liberty Gold completed a 3,400 metre RC drill program that resulted in a new bulk tonnage style gold discovery at Viper. Highlights from this program include:

  • 1.09 g/t gold and 20.98 g/t silver over 33.5 meters from surface, in hole PV-003;
  • 0.47  g/t gold  and 4.08 g/t silver over 7.6 meters from 16.8 meters in hole PV-002;
  •  0.51 g/t gold and 5.86 g/t silver over 13.7 meters from surface, in hole PV-004; and,
  •  0.60 g/t gold and 7.48 g/t silver over 6.1 meters from 21.3 meters.
